Meiko Network Japan Co., Ltd., (hereinafter referred to as “the Company”) recognizes that proper use of customers’ personal information and the protection of such information from violation of personal rights and interests are top priorities. To this end, the Company establishes and applies this Personal Information Protection Policy and various other regulations regarding the protection of personal information, and promotes their enforcement among all directors and employees at the Company.

  1. Personal Information
    The Company considers information that can identify a specific individual as personal information. This includes the customer’s name, address, contact information such as telephone number and an email address, gender, names of family members, bank account number, history or outcome of services provided, and any other information provided by the customer which could be used in isolation or in combination to identify an individual.
     
  2. Acquisition and Use of Personal Information
    The Company obtains personal information through fair and lawful means. When obtaining personal information, the Company notifies, publishes or otherwise specifies the purpose for which the information will be used. The Company only uses personal information to the extent necessary to achieve that purpose.
     
  3. Provision of Personal Information to a Third Party
    Unless permitted by the laws and ordinances, or unless done in accordance with the procedures stipulated in the laws and ordinances, the Company will not disclose or provide data pertaining to customers’ personal information to a third party in Japan or overseas without the prior consent of the individual.
     
  4. Outsourcing
    In order to provide better service, the Company may, to the extent necessary to achieve a specific purpose, consign the handling of data pertaining to customers’ personal information to a service consignee in Japan or overseas and provide customers’ personal data to that service consignee. When providing personal data to a service consignee, the Company will select a consignee who handles personal information properly and will endeavor to protect customers’ personal information by deciding in consultation with the consignee appropriate measures for managing that information.
     
  5. Shared Use of Personal Information
    To the extent necessary to achieve a specific purpose, the Company may share customers’ personal information with its subsidiaries, affiliates and franchisees. In that event, responsibility for managing that personal information rests with the entity that originally collected the personal information from the customer, whether that be the Company, a subsidiary, affiliate, or franchisee.
     
  6. Handling of Personal Information
    The Company will implement organizationally and technologically rational preventive and corrective measures to protect personal information from risks such as unauthorized access, loss, breakage, and leakage.
     
  7. Compliance with Laws and Ordinances
    The Company will comply with laws and ordinances regarding the protection of personal information and will continually review and improve its personal information protection system in response to changes in the environment.
     
  8. Request for Disclosure or Inquiries
    The Company will respond to inquiries about personal information. Please contact the following office if you wish to request the disclosure, correction, or cessation of use of customers’ personal data in our possession. Note that in order to match the identity of a customer to the personal information in question, the Company shall be entitled to request that a customer submit certain documentation.
